Consider this an official announcement — a new series for the TDP newsletter is launching: TDP Monthly Picks!
This is where I pick out some of my favourite items I have seen recently. The aim is to send them straight to your inbox once a month. You will see something interesting to wear, something to add to your wishlist and something to show your friends.
So now is the perfect time to sign up and have all future newsletters delivered straight to your inbox.
And don't worry, the themed articles and round-ups won't stop, I'm already working on the next one. But before it comes out, be sure to check out my recent posts:
Or..
But let's not get too sidetracked; we have a lot to cover, so let's dive in.
Someone on Arrakis is probably wearing this right now
This brand new jacket by Kiko Kostadinov and CP Company is a dream come true for fans of both brands (myself included). Focusing on the garment, there is so much to like. It combines Kiko's unconventional silhouettes, his signature technical fabrics and CP Company's garment dyeing to create a unique jacket that looks like something out of Dune. But wait, it gets even better.
The front can be removed, allowing the rest of the jacket to be zipped up for a slimmer silhouette, and the whole thing can be folded into a shoulder bag. Yes, the price is steep, but if you think about it, you are getting such a unique and versatile piece.
Yes, I will buy another pair of brown shoes and you cannot stop me.
Slimmer shoes, similar to the Adidas Samba, have been in style for some time now, with other Onitsuka Tiger models such as the Mexico 66 at the forefront of the trend. If you are looking for a less popular alternative, I think I have something for you. The Sclaw, inspired by wrestling shoes, are one of my favourite pairs from the brand. They come in three great colours, but the black and brown option is what I would go for.
I am welding this jacket to a nice white T-shirt and some cool jeans
Interesting-looking workwear is and will probably always be my thing. This cool Welder jacket may not protect you from fire, but it will make you look great. It's by Vancouver-based designer Colin Meredith, who has just launched his latest collection. I love the unusual structure of the jacket, especially the details around the collar, the front pockets and the sleeve cuffs.
You can see a brighter feature through these vintage lenses
I am certainly no expert on vintage eyewear, but this pair from Hadley certainly caught my eye. They remind me very much of one of the most confident glasses wearers - Jeff Goldblum. The thick black frame and tinted lenses are a solid classic look, but the proportions make them seriously cool. As someone who wears prescription glasses, I can also see myself replacing the lenses and wearing them for special occasions. You can find them online at the French vintage store Le Vif, along with other options curated by Culture Frames.
And that is all for the first edition of the TDP Monthly Picks. Let me know what you think of this month's round-up in the comments.
And as always, thanks for reading!
